The ability to use the unique function of the full color universal mind machine, playing files with an exclusive code signal "ExpertStrobe" (also playable "SpectraStrobe" and "AudioStrobe"). You can upload various ready-made files or create your own in special programs from third-party manufacturers. The "ExpertStrobe" standard has eight control channels as opposed to the "SpectraStrobe" which has only six channels. "AudioStrobe" has only two channels (in stereo files). In the "ExpertStrobe" standard, six channels are used to control RGB LEDs for the left and right eyes, and the remaining two channels can control additional devices (for example, separate control for left and right vibrators, frequency and level control of a transcranial stimulator, etc.). As you know, stimulation with certain compositions allows you to achieve excellent results in entering lucid dreams, improves the quality of sleep, makes dreams more saturated with a variety of events, and in some cases allows you to correct the mental state of a person. There may be contraindications, consult a specialist. Supports playback of files with "ExpertStrobe", "SpectraStrobe" and "AudioStrobe" technologies in any operation mode where voice or music files are played (this requires a version of the program with the function of a mind machine).

The ability to use transcranial stimulation (tACS) with a signal with an adjustable frequency, voltage up to 1V and current up to 10μA. A current of up to 50μA and a voltage of up to 1V are considered safe for human health under long-term exposure. Transcranial stimulation (tACS) can significantly improve the results of inputs to lucid dreaming, makes lucid dreams more vivid, enhances emotional saturation and positive coloration of lucid dreams (a version of the program with the function of transcranial stimulation is required). There may be contraindications, consult a specialist.

The device has two expansion connectors for connecting external devices or additional sensors. One of them is connected to the cable from the transcranial stimulation applicators (tACS) coming out of the mask.

Support for memory cards "microSD" up to 2GB, "microSDHC" up to 32GB for storing dictaphone messages, prompts, dream scenarios, dream recording, music for falling asleep, coded files of the mind machine, statistics and other necessary files.

Supports playing MP3 files up to 320kbps, WAV files up to 16bit / 48kHz.

Two eye movement sensors (separate sensors for each eye).

RGB visible light LEDs (multicolor) for prompts and light signals for the mind machine. Any color with any brightness can be set separately for each eye. The device allows you to create 36-bit color (Deep Color) for the mind machine and other modes.

Issuance of prompts in a dream with light signals of a certain color (the color of the prompts changes in the settings).

The device is equipped with a premium mask made of genuine leather and suede with metal fittings. According to numerous user reviews, such a special mask, which has been sold in the "DreamStalker Ultra LX" set for several years, provides a very comfortable sleep, unlike a mask made of artificial material (polyester), in which the sleeping person becomes uncomfortable, the person begins to sweat, and as a result perspiration damages the device. Such situations were observed among users of earlier versions of the "DreamStalker" family, equipped with cheap artificial polyester masks.

The device is located in the frontal part of the mask, the special design of which ensures restful sleep, excellent ventilation, cooling and no fogging of the forehead.

The device has a built-in "tablet" speaker for voice and music reproduction, which develops sufficient sound output power.

The device is equipped with a "USB disk" function that allows you to access files on the device memory card by connecting to the USB port of a desktop computer or laptop.

The device is controlled by only three buttons with effective protection against accidental short clicks.

The device has an OLED display designed to display the necessary information and make individual settings through special menus.

All basic settings of the device are performed via the web interface. The device creates a Wi-Fi server and displays a page with settings and control buttons directly on the screen of your smartphone, tablet or laptop through any installed Internet browser (Safari, Chrome, Opera, Edge, etc.) without installing any applications ...

Recording of prompts and dictaphone messages through the built-in microphone on the device is carried out with the highest quality in WAV 16bit / 48kHz format. Experts in the field of lucid dreaming emphasize the fundamental importance of good cue reproduction.

Through the web interface, you can upload audio files created by third-party audio recording software to the device. That is, for example, you can record a message used for prompts in a dream on a smartphone's dictaphone, and immediately download the message to the device without using any wires or additional computers.

At each session of use, the device creates statistics files, in which it keeps a complete record of all events, indicating the real current time of each event. For example, the launch of the Sleep timer, the triggering of eye movement sensors (indicating the amplitude of movement), restarting the Sleep timer according to data from the accelerometer, pressing buttons, etc. are taken into account.

Implemented safe, controlled charging of the built-in battery from any charger that has a USB output with a voltage of 5V using a standard cable with a micro-USB output connector. The device can also be charged from the USB port of a computer, laptop or from a portable battery.

The device has an audio output (Jack 3.5mm, stereo) for any standard headphones, so as not to interfere with the restful sleep of people around you.

Automatic detection of connected headphones with speaker mute.

The built-in high-precision analog-to-digital converter used for eye movement sensors made it possible to realize the most precise adjustment of the sensitivity of the sensors. Unique sensors instantly track arising inoperative positions (the sensor is defective, pressed strongly against the eye or the mask is removed). A special software algorithm for processing data received from eye movement sensors reliably filters interference from artificial lighting, TVs and monitors with a frequency of 50, 60, 100, 120, 200 and 240 Hz. Now the improved algorithm for the analysis of eye movements takes into account not only the amplitude, but also the speed of eye movement (for even more accurate determination of the dream phase).

In some operating modes, system voice instructions are used to help you easily and easily use the device. For example, in the automatic dream recording mode.

Automatic dream recording mode automates this process (lucid dream experts recommend recording and analyzing your dreams).

Precision built-in voltage regulator ensures reliable power supply of the device using modern technologies "High Accuracy", "Ultra-Low Iq", "Ultra-Low Dropout", "Low Noise" for perfect results, stable operation and save battery power.

There is a special mode for checking the eye movement sensor with sound control and instant detection of emergency situations for high-quality testing and ensuring reliable operation of the device.

The device uses smooth and convenient brightness control of light signals and volume of sound signals. Completely separate volume controls are available for button presses, voice prompts and music, system messages, tone prompts, alarm volume, and more.

The device implements dream feedback (in the "Duplex" mode), which allows you to control the device by moving your gaze during a lucid dream. There is a special test mode for testing and acquiring skills in operating the device with a look in the "Duplex" mode. The device allows you to quickly check the issuance of all prompts (light, voice, tone, vibration).

Sound files for the device in standard MP3 or WAV format can be recorded and played on a Windows computer or on a mobile device with iOS, Android operating systems using sound recording applications, voice recorders or audio editors.

The device provides a simple, easy and intuitive software (firmware) update via Wi-Fi interface (without connecting a cable).

There is no need to constantly use the power switch - the device always automatically selects the most economical operating mode and enters the battery saving mode, eliminating the need to remember to turn off the power.

The device is equipped with a separate dedicated controller from Microchip for charging Li-Pol batteries in order to provide accurate voltage control and charging process to preserve battery health, save energy and long service life. The charge controller has the following functions and technologies: “High Accuracy Preset Voltage Regulation”, “Automatic Recharge”, “Automatic End-of-Charge Control”, “Low-Dropout Linear Regulator Mode”, “Under Voltage Lockout”, “Automatic Power- Down when Input Power Removed ", "Preconditioning of Deeply Depleted Cells ".

The electronic components of the device are enclosed in a housing made of environmentally friendly, durable and flexible SBS plastic, approved for use in the food industry (contact of such plastic with food is allowed).

The instrument automatically monitors the battery voltage before starting functions with potentially high power consumption. For example, if the battery is discharged, then when you try to turn on Wi-Fi, an error signal will be issued. In this case, you need to connect the charger and charge the battery.

The device allows you to exchange standard files with a computer via a removable microSDHC memory card.

There is a mode of restarting the device program with restoring the factory settings and several options for ready-made presets for the "Lucid Dream" mode.

Automatic setting (correction) of time and date by pressing just one button on the settings page. Time and date are automatically requested from the connected device (smartphone, tablet, laptop).

The device allows you to select themes for setting pages, options for displaying descriptions for functions, English or Russian for display in settings and for use in voice system messages.

Instrument power switch

Before using the instrument, turn the Power Switch to the “ON” position. The device "DreamStalker" automatically applies the most optimal energy saving modes, and therefore does not need to turn off the power at the end of the work. Use the power switch only if you are planning a long break from using the device (more than a week). Turning off the power will reset all instrument settings to their default state. After turning the power back on, you will need to set the current date and time through the settings page.

Instrument control

When the device is powered on, the device display automatically turns off after a while (to save battery power) if you do not operate the device. Attention! Removing and inserting the microSD memory card back is allowed only in this mode (i.e. after the device automatically turns off). Short presses of the [MENU] and [Wi-Fi] buttons only turn on the display without performing any functions. A short press of the [CHECK] button always activates the reality check function, and pressing [CHECK] while the display is on will start recording a message to the recorder. If the display is on, pressing and holding the [MENU] button will turn on the instrument menu, which allows you to select the operating mode (Lucid Dreaming, Mind Machine, Audio-Files Manager) or activate additional purchased licenses for using special instrument functions. While the display is on, pressing and holding the [Wi-Fi] button will start the Wi-Fi server. When the message about the server turning on appears on the display, you can connect your smartphone, tablet or laptop to the Wi-Fi access point "DSExpert" using the password "DSE12345". Then, in the address bar of the browser, type the address "192.168.4.1". The page with the device settings and control buttons will be loaded. To complete the work, use the corresponding button "Disconnect and turn off" on the settings page or briefly press the [Wi-Fi] button on the device. For continuous work with a Wi-Fi server, connect the charger to the device in order to conserve battery power.

The electronic board of the "DreamStalker" device is embedded inside the mask made of a black material that absorbs light well (genuine leather and suede). A schematic representation of the electronic board is shown in the figure. The device is controlled by three buttons [MENU], [CHECK] and [Wi-Fi] located on the electronic board protruding from the body. To the left of the buttons on the body of the device there is a power switch [Power Switch], which can be moved to the desired position with the help of any sharp object. On the left and right, on the protruding parts of the PCB, there are components for eye movement sensors, as well as RGB LEDs for the right and left eyes. The speaker is installed inside the cabinet and has sound outlets on the left side of the cabinet. The device is equipped with an OLED display that displays the necessary information: battery charge, current time, operating modes, modifiable button functions (on the bottom line of the display) and also allows you to show the menu for activating the desired modes and changing some settings. There are [Expansion Connector 1] and [Expansion Connector 2] jacks on the body for connecting various additional devices. The left [Expansion Connector 1] jack connects the cable from the transcranial stimulation applicators (tACS) located on the mask. Other optional devices can be connected to the right [Expansion Connector 2]. The Charge / USB socket is used to charge the battery (the charger must provide a current of at least 500mA) and to connect the device to a computer as a USB disk (you get access to the files located on the memory card). The device has a standard 3.5mm stereo jack for connecting headphones (the sound switches from speaker to headphones automatically). A microSD memory card is installed through the corresponding cutout in the case. To remove the card, press it with a sharp object and release - the card will come out of the slot. To reinstall the card, insert it into the slot until it clicks. Only remove the card when the device is not working (i.e. no operating mode is running on the device). If you are using USB Disk Mode, be sure to use the Safely Remove Disk feature on your computer. Failure to comply with these requirements may damage the file system on the memory card (if it happened, then format the card in the FAT32 system with a cluster size of 64Kb and restore all files from a backup source). Back up your files ahead of time just in case.

Instrument sound signals

Long melodic signal - the device is turned off (transition to the initial state). A short melodic signal means confirmation. For example, pressing a button, the successful completion of a function. Three separate signals indicate an error, a failure to perform a function, or a warning.

Lucid Dream Mode

Selecting this mode in the menu will trigger the sleep timer, that is, the device will be switched on to the lucid dreaming mode. The duration of the timer exposure is set in the settings. To turn off the device (i.e. to exit this mode), you can press any button. 30 seconds before the timer expires, there will be two faint flashes in front of the eyes, indicating the inclusion of a 30-second period for a possible extension of the timer exposure. During the period of prolonging the timer exposure, pressing any button will increase the timer exposure by a certain number of minutes from each press (see the description of this setting on the settings page). After setting a new exposure, a confirmation beep will sound and the timer will be extended.

How to start the device in operation in the "Lucid Dream" mode

If you have previously set the required shutter speed for the sleep timer via the Wi-Fi server, then to turn on the device, just select the "Lucid Dream" mode in the device menu on the display. After a factory reset or power off, the sleep timer is set to default. If you need to change this value, then turn on the Wi-Fi server and load the settings page as described above. The very first setting is the sleep timer exposure in minutes. This shutter speed allows you to delay the start of eye movement monitoring so that the device does not accidentally trigger from small movements of your eyelids while you fall asleep. If you want the timer to postpone the monitoring of eye movements for 3 hours, then set the appropriate shutter speed and click the "Save settings" button. Then click the Disconnect and Shutdown button. Now, to turn the device into operation, it is enough to select the "Lucid Dream" mode in the device menu on the display.

After turning on the Wi-Fi server and loading the settings page, do not forget to set the current date and time. This is done automatically by pressing just one appropriate button. The current time from your device (smartphone, tablet, laptop) is recorded in the device. After a factory reset or power off, you need to set the date and time again.

To turn off the Lucid Dream mode, just press any button. If you press the [CHECK] button, reality check signals will be issued after shutdown.

Mind Machine Mode

The "Mind Machine" mode uses MP3 files (bitrate 256-320kbps) for operation with the coding of light signals in the "ExpertStrobe", "SpectraStrobe" or "AudioStrobe" systems (the coding system is detected and switched automatically). The "ExpertStrobe" and "SpectraStrobe" systems allow you to separately set the brightness and color of the RGB LEDs for each eye, since stereo files are used (one channel for the left eye, the other for the right). In this case, you can get an almost unlimited number of colors and shades. The "DreamStalker" uses 12-bit colors for each color (red, green, blue) for a combined 36-bit color (Deep Color). Mind Machine must be used with headphones.

How to start the device in operation in the "Mind Machine" mode

To turn on the device in the "Mind Machine" mode, select the "Mind Machine" mode in the device menu on the display. In the menu, you can also select the desired sound volume, the brightness of the light signals and the number of the directory on the memory card from which the files will be played. Navigation through the menu items is performed by the [<<<] and [>>>] buttons. Returning from this menu is done with [Return from Menu]. Now you can start the mode. The current button functions will be shown on the display. In playback mode, you can pause, skip to the next track, or stop.

The memory card contains the "Mindmachine Files" directory, which contains directories named "1", "2", "3", etc. In each of these directories, you can keep specific sets of files you want. When you start the "Mind Machine" mode, you can choose from the directory with which number the files will be played.

You can play the finished files from different manufacturers. For example, free sample compositions for SpectraStrobe testing can be downloaded here: https://soundcloud.com/MindPlace . You can also use special programs to create your own stimulating tracks. For example, "Neuro-Programmer 3" (for "ExpertStrobe", "SpectraStrobe", "AudioStrobe"), "MindExplorer SW" (for "AudioStrobe"). Special files of the "ExpertStrobe" standard will be available as additional devices, optionally connected to the "DreamStalker", are released and controlled by this standard.

The "AudioStrobe" standard, whose files can only contain luminance level information, but do not contain any color information, is only supported for compatibility with your existing files. This standard provides monochrome light for stimulation. The multi-colored light pictures that you see on some mind machines that reproduce the “AudioStrobe” signal are, in fact, just a fantasy of the developer of such a mind machine, and have nothing to do with the idea of the author of the stimulating composition.

License activation mode "License Activate"

The "DreamStalker Expert" device can be supplied with a different set of functions. For example, a standard version is possible, but there may be special versions supplemented with transcranial stimulation (tACS) functions and the capabilities of a mind-machine. If you bought the standard version, you can easily buy, for example, an additional license for the capabilities of the mind machine, and then activate the necessary functions on your device. Before purchasing a license, enter the instrument menu on the display, select the "License Activate" item by pressing "Enter". The serial number of the device will appear on the screen, which you must provide to us when placing an order for a license. In response, we will send you an activation code for the purchased license tied to the serial number of your device. The activation code is entered in the same menu where the serial number is displayed. Press the [<<<] or [>>>] button and then “Enter” to select the desired [Enter License Code] menu item. Enter the activation code by selecting each digit with the [<<<] or [>>>] buttons and pressing "Enter" after selecting each digit. When the last digit is entered, a message about successful activation or refusal of activation will appear if an error was made in the code number.

Instrument control and settings page

The device control and settings page is loaded by starting the Wi-Fi server, as described above. Each setting has a detailed description. When the software versions of the device are updated, these settings can be changed and supplemented with new settings and additional buttons for controlling the device, therefore, the control page is not considered in this manual. The page allows you to select a theme and language in which descriptions of settings and control buttons will be displayed. The page size and content will automatically adapt to the size of the device you are viewing this page on. As a result, it is convenient to work with the device using any modern "gadgets" - a smartphone, tablet or laptop.

Description of the device operation process in the "Lucid Dream" mode

After turning on the device in the "Lucid Dream" mode, the Sleep timer countdown begins, which is necessary for a quiet fall asleep, so that the device does not react to twitching of the eyelids until you fall asleep. The Sleep Timer also gives you time to get enough sleep before using the device, which significantly improves the results of lucid dreaming and allows you to feel well rested in the morning.
If you have uploaded the music for relaxation to the appropriate directory on the memory card and allowed the use of these files in the device settings, then after 1 minute the music will start playing, which will end 1 minute before the Sleep-timer is triggered.

30 seconds before the expiration of the Sleep-timer exposure, the device emits two weak light flashes. If you have not had time to fall asleep, now within 20 seconds you can press any button several times (maximum 9 times). Each press of the button will extend the Sleep Timer exposure by 10 minutes. A few seconds after the last pressing of the button, a melodic sound signal will sound, confirming the extension of the Sleep-timer exposure.

After the Sleep timer is triggered, eye movements are monitored to track the onset of the desired dream phase.

  1. Eye movement monitoring. This mode has special algorithms for protection against false alarms so that the device does not give prompts when you are awake. The device should send prompts when your sleep enters the rapid eye movement phase. In this mode, pressing any button will turn off the device.
  2. Pause before prompts. When eye movements are detected (with the intensity parameters defined in the settings), the device pauses for the development of a dream. The pause duration (in seconds) is defined in the settings. In this pause, the device settings allow you to turn on the transcranial stimulation synthesizer (tACS) with the desired frequency of the electrical signal. For example, it is widely known that the 40Hz frequency can stimulate lucid dreaming. Experts also note the positive impact of some other frequencies. Stimulation takes place with voltage levels of no more than 1V and current of no more than 10 microamperes, which, according to sanitary standards, are completely safe for humans even with very long exposure (prolonged exposure to voltage up to 1V and current up to 50 microamperes is allowed, which does not lead to any physical changes in organism). The actual tACS stimulation current is highly dependent on the level of galvanic skin response and tissue conductivity at the site of application of the tACS applicators and can be in the range from 1 to 10 microamperes. Transcranial stimulation with the desired frequency can increase the likelihood of transition to a lucid dream and make it more interesting and rich in various events. In this mode, pressing any button will turn off the device.
  3. Play the "Before Hints" file. The sound file "before prompts" with the selected number is played (if it is loaded and its use is allowed in the device settings). If this file is downloaded in mp3 format, then it is checked for the presence of special signals "ExpertStrobe", "SpectraStrobe", "AudioStrobe" (only in the version of the program with a mind machine). When these signals are detected, the colored LEDs located opposite the eyes begin to display light stimulation signals with a brightness limited to the corresponding value in the device settings. In this mode, pressing any button will turn off the device.
  4. Tips for entering lucid dreaming. Prompts can be light, tonal (sound), or vibrational. Light cues are commonly used. You can choose one of the standard presets or change the settings yourself to determine the desired frequency, duty cycle and duration of a series of light flashes and tones. If you prefer to use vibration, then in the device settings you can set the desired level. Vibration can be combined with light and tonal prompts. The device implements a feedback mode with a device from a lucid dream, called Duplex mode. It has some peculiarities. Vibration is not used in Duplex mode. The hint light signals do not have fixed levels, their brightness gradually increases. You can turn off lucid dreaming prompts in the pauses between light signals. To do this, move your gaze rhythmically from heaven to earth and back again rhythmically several times. You can practice turning off the device in the prompts check mode, having previously turned on the Duplex mode. In all modes described here, pressing any button will turn off the device.
  5. Play the "After Hints" file. The sound file is played "after prompts" with the selected number (if it is loaded and its use is allowed in the device settings). The possibilities are completely analogous to those that are available when playing a file "before prompts". In this mode, pressing any button will turn off the device.
  6. Play the "Dream Scenario" file. The sound file "dream scenario" with the selected number is played (if it is loaded and its use is allowed in the device settings). In this mode, pressing any button will turn off the device.
  7. Pause for the development of lucid dreaming. The device pauses for the development of a lucid dream, so as not to interfere with the sleeping person with unnecessary repetition of prompts during a lucid dream. The pause duration (in minutes) is set in the settings. All possibilities are completely analogous to the first pause for the development of a dream, which is performed immediately after the detection of eye movements. In this mode, pressing any button will turn off the device.
  8. Automatic alarm after dreaming. If the alarm clock is turned on in the settings, then it will wake you up with tones with a gradually increasing volume so that you can calmly wake up and write down your dream in a notebook. You can turn off the alarm by pressing any button. If you used an alarm clock, but automatic recording to the voice recorder was not enabled in the settings, the device will exit the eyelid movement monitoring mode and turn off immediately.
  9. Automatic recording of a dream to a dictaphone. If the alarm clock was turned on in the settings, and automatic recording to the dictaphone was turned on, then after turning off the alarm clock you will hear a voice prompt to record a message in the form of a sound file to the memory card. Follow the voice instructions to record your message. If you do not press the button at the appropriate time to confirm the start of recording on the dictaphone, the message recording will be automatically canceled, about which a corresponding voice message will be made. After that, the device will exit the eyelid movement monitoring mode and turn off.

If you have not pressed the button in the modes of item 8 and item 9. (that is, you did not wake up from the alarm clock and from the invitation to record the dream), then the device will again switch to the eyelid movements monitoring mode and the entire operation cycle will be repeated until the operation of the device is interrupted by pressing any button or exceeding the set limit for prompting. Remember that for best results, it is recommended that you do not try to enter lucid dreaming every night.

Accumulator charging

The device uses automatic control of the charging process and the use of the battery. If the charge level is too low (that is, the battery is discharged), you will not be able to start the sleep timer or Wi-Fi server. Check the charge level and charge the battery in time (a full charge is recommended before each use of the device). It is allowed to use any charger that has a USB output with a voltage of 5V and provides an output current of 500mA or more. You can use chargers from modern smartphones or tablets. You can charge the device from the USB port of any desktop computer or laptop, if this port is capable of delivering a current of at least 500mA.

Recommendations for using the device

You can sleep on your back or on any side as you are used to. Sleeping face down is not recommended due to the increased likelihood that the mask will move relative to its normal position. In this case, the normal operation of the eye movement sensors may be disrupted.

Start with the preset normal wake up modes with light prompts ("Duplex" must be off). Having familiarized yourself in practice with all the functions and features of the device, you can begin to select the parameters "for yourself", if the need arises. The transition to the use of the duplex method of awakening should be after obtaining stable results on the entrances to lucid dreaming. Many experts note that it is easy for them to become aware of a dream in response to a voice prompt recorded by their own voice.

The vast majority of users get excellent results using the additional alarm function to record their dreams.

The time of greatest sleep activity, when lucid dreaming can be experienced, usually occurs after 4-6 hours of deep sleep. Therefore, the optimal wake-up timer is set to 4 hours.

Closer to the time of natural awakening, dreams appear much more often. If you woke up at this time (for example, when using a third-party alarm clock), you can turn on the device with a timer exposure of 20-30 minutes, put on a mask and quickly fall asleep. This method can be used if you do not like sleeping in a mask all night.

The most optimal use of "DreamStalker" in conjunction with other methods of induction of lucid dreaming, for example, with such widely known and used methods, which are described in the book by Stephen LaBerge "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming". One of these, in our opinion, very effective techniques is "Mnemonically Induced Lucid Dreaming".

Briefly, the procedure is as follows. When you wake up (naturally or as a result of the alarm), start recalling what you dreamed about. Try to remember if you dreamed about unusual lights in this dream. Then close your eyes and, remembering the dream, imagine yourself seeing a lucid dream. Repeat several times: "The next time in the dream I am aware that I am dreaming." Do this with every dream.

You can simulate the situation using the "DreamStalker" by imagining that you are asleep and pressing the CHECK button. Then, when you hear the beeps, think to yourself, "I am sleeping, I am sleeping." Repeat this several times.

It must be remembered that "false awakenings" occur quite often in a dream. These are dreams in which you are absolutely sure that you have just woken up, but at the same time remain in a dream. Therefore, practicing mindfulness with the "DreamStalker" device, and waking up at night, press the [CHECK] reality check button to hear sound signals and see flashes of light. If the device works fine, then you really are not sleeping. If not, then most likely you are asleep.

Look everywhere during the day for signs of dreams, and do frequent reality checks (both practices are detailed in Stephen LaBerge). Another dedicated device, the DreamTrainer, is invaluable in this day-to-day reality check exercise. If you are not using the "DreamTrainer", then look for flashes of light (reflections on windows, car headlights, spotlights, etc.). At the same time, ask yourself - "Am I sleeping?", And check the reality.

It is not recommended to use "DreamStalker" every night, as the brain can get used to stimuli and begin to ignore them. Try the different built-in modes, try using the alarm, then put the device aside for a while and sleep as usual.

Duplex method (dream feedback)

The special “Duplex” mode implements a special method of prompting, when the intensity of the light prompts gradually increases. Prompts are issued in sequential series with relatively short pauses. In the pauses between the light signals, you can turn off the prompts by rhythmically moving your gaze up and down several times in the dream (then the device will continue to work as in normal mode). A detailed description is available on the instrument settings page.

Special awakening signals (keys to lucid dreaming)

"DreamStalker" will give you special signals during dreaming that will help you realize that you are dreaming. The signals are given in the form of a series of flashes of light and / or pulsating sound signals (depending on the selected settings). Light will come from LEDs opposite your eyes, sound from a small speaker located in the body of the device. "DreamStalker" detects that you are asleep by a series of rapid eye movements that occur in almost every dream. When "DreamStalker" decides that eye movement has reached a predetermined level of intensity, it triggers signals to let you know that you are sleeping.

This technique of "keys to lucid dreaming" is based on the scientific fact that any manifestations of the environment during sleep can be incorporated into sleep and reach your consciousness. You may have already had this experience where the ringing of an alarm clock, telephone, or other sounds were woven into your dream as a natural part of the dream. A series of flashes of light works well as a key to lucid dreaming, as the signal is gentle enough not to wake you up, but specific enough to be recognized by you in the dream. Sound signals are intended for those who sleep very deeply and do not notice the light signals.

To get the most out of "DreamStalker", you need to learn (train your brain) to notice flashes of light around you during daily activities, and each time ask yourself the question: "Am I sleeping?" As soon as you notice such a flash. This is a very important part of working with the device, since the "keys" can appear in dreams in an infinite variety of forms and types. Most likely, you will see only part of these "keys" in your dreams. Some "keys" will wake you up, which will give you an excellent opportunity to enter the OS directly from the waking state. Other clues will pass your attention completely unnoticed by you. The ideal keys will appear in your dreams several times a night.

Reality check

An essential part of the process of mastering the world of lucid dreaming is checking the world in which you are at the moment, for reality - whether this world is the world of reality or is it the world of dreams. The [CHECK] button on the front of the instrument makes this check very easy. It has been noticed that mechanical devices in the world of dreams usually behave differently from the same devices in the world of reality. It turns out that it is very difficult for the brain to reproduce the signals generated by the "DreamStalker" in your dreams.

Pressing the [CHECK] button on the front panel of the "DreamStalker" will play sequential beeps with flashes of light (LEDs turn on to illuminate the eyes) if you are awake. In a dream, however, the [CHECK] button will work very differently. Most likely, you will not hear the sound at all, but something strange will happen. Thus, this button is very useful for reality testing. Because people working with the device "DreamStalker" very often have dreams when they wake up in bed with a mask on their face, or walk in public in this mask. The key, of course, is a firm attitude, which is necessary whenever you realize that you have a mask on your face, to check the reality in which you are by pressing the [CHECK] button. If after pressing you do not hear successive beeps and see no light, then, with a high degree of probability, you are sleeping!

Using the features of the brain

Knowing how your brain works during lucid dreaming is very important for working with the "DreamStalker". Stephen LaBerge, in his book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming, has described many useful exercises. We present the most suitable ones for working with "DreamStalker" in this guide. Various descriptions of situations arising in a dream, given below, will allow you to understand how dodgy the brain can be when interpreting external signals in a dream and the fact of pressing the [CHECK] button. Exercising to find light in everyday life will train your brain to find awakening signals during sleep. Read the information here carefully and then begin the exercises.

The types of embedding of the signals of the "DreamStalker" by the brain of a sleeping person into their dreams can be roughly divided into three categories. In the first case, flashes appear in a dream disguised as different phenomena or simply as a series of flashes, which you can observe in the same way as it happens in reality. The next type of signals comes after pressing the reality check button. The third category is the appearance in a dream of the "DreamStalker" itself. By the way, this is one of the most effective ways to become aware of yourself in a dream, noticing that you are walking in a “DreamStalker” mask!

As you read about the experiences of other people who have dreamed with "DreamStalker", just imagine yourself in their place, that you are dreaming and you see it. In cases where the person dreaming was mistaken about the interpretation of the signals, tell yourself that now you will never be mistaken in interpreting the signals after seeing such a scene. Imagine seeing these signals and say to yourself, "This is "DreamStalker", I am sleeping right now."

Important note! Despite the fact that the LEDs of "DreamStalker" can give red, green, blue, as well as various other colors and shades of glow, do not think that this light will be the same in your dreams. Most often it is white or even any other color.

Bright flying saucers or airplanes circled around me.

I was in a huge structure deep underground. This structure was controlled by a central computer. I ran down level after level, trying to hide from his all-seeing eyes. I saw a flash of light and realized that the computer had noticed me. When I saw the second flash, I realized that the computer was trying to drive me into a trap and ran faster. Upon waking up, I realized that the computer was "DreamStalker" and that it was trying to tell me that I was dreaming and dreaming!

Examples of dreams with unmasked signals

When I saw the flashes of light, I thought - where are they from? Because in my dream I took off the mask.

I see flashes of light and I press the CHECK button - no effect. I think - great, so I am sleeping!

I see flashes of light in a dream, and my first thought was - great, this is “DreamStalker”!

Examples of dreams with a push of a button

I woke up and pressed the CHECK button in the mask. I almost believed that I was awake because I heard a sound, but then I realized that I did not see the flash, then I tried to press again. Again, no effect. Then I got up, took off the mask and saw that I was in a completely different bedroom and saw my body sleeping on the bed.

I saw flashes and pressed the CHECK button to check the reality. It didn't work, but instead of realizing that I was in a dream, I rationalized this fact, I took off the mask and "discovered" that I had "broken" the button.

I woke up and pressed the CHECK button, it didn't work, and I realized that I was in a dream.

I went back to bed and tried to reach for the mask to do a reality test. My hands seemed to be numb and very heavy. With some difficulty I got to the CHECK button, but nothing happened.

I decided that I woke up with a mask on my face in my car, which for some reason was parked in a grocery store. I pressed the CHECK button, but nothing happened. "Hooray! I'm still sleeping! "

"DreamStalker" starts flashing light, I press the button to stop it because the light is very bright, but the flashes of light continue. Broke, infection, - I think and shift the mask to my forehead. But the flashes continue right into my eyes. I'm in a dream! - I realize.

"DreamStalker" flashes in my eyes and I think it's very strange since the mask is hanging around my neck. I think maybe I am dreaming. Then I put on the mask and press the CHECK button - it does not work, which confirms that I am sleeping.

I'm sitting in bed. Gold-painted styrofoam crumbles and rains from cells on a billboard. This is strange, - I note to myself. Suddenly I realize that I have a mask in my hand and I press the [CHECK] button. Nothing happens and I happily shout my mom's dream versions: "This is a lucid dream"!

The presence in dreams of the device "DreamStalker"

In my dreams, I wear a "DreamStalker". Everyone I meet tries to explain to me how to achieve lucid dreaming, and I get annoyed - after all, I wear a "DreamStalker" - what else can I do?

I wake up in bed with a "DreamStalker" on my face, but somehow I don't know what it is. Every time the lights flash, I take off this mask and think that now I am finally awake, but everything repeats itself.

I woke up and I feel a mask on my face. I hear music and voices, as if someone nearby is talking on the phone. I get up and go to the next room, tell them to stop making noise. The woman from the next room looks at me extremely puzzled, as if she thinks: "What is this strange mask doing on her face?"

I am in bed with a young man who wants to make love to me, but suddenly notices that I have a mask on my face. I explain to him why she is needed.

A note about frightening or unpleasant dream cues

As you read these descriptions of various dreams, you may have noticed that signals are very subtly embedded in the fabric of dreams. Our brain is trying to turn them into something ordinary from our daily life. But flashes of light do not always turn into something pleasant. In fact, we often see flashing lights, like alarms, lights on special vehicles. In movies, often flashing lights accompany all kinds of explosive devices. You may also encounter such an interpretation in a dream. We sometimes get this kind of feedback. There is nothing wrong with that. "DreamStalker" signals cannot do you any harm, no matter what form they take in dreams. Any manifestation of signals in a dream gives us a great chance to become aware of ourselves in a dream. In addition, the appearance of "bad" signals gives you the opportunity to practice managing the reality of dreams. Ask yourself: “Is it really that dangerous?”, “What does it really mean? And how can this help me? " In lucid dreaming, you can change anything and direct the flow of sleep in a positive and constructive direction.

Exercise "watching the lights"

  1. Make a list of lights. Title it "Lights in Reality." Now look around you and notice any light source in your immediate surroundings or elsewhere. List them all on your list. For example: desk lamp, computer screen, lamp reflection in a mirror, sunlight. Do not dismiss reflections, electronic devices and even very bright colors. Dream signals can appear in any form.
  2. Create as complete as possible a collection of all kinds of lights. Carry this sheet with you at all times. As soon as you see any light source that is not in your collection, bring it there. For example, it can be different types of lamps, road lights, fires, car headlights, etc. If any light source draws your special attention (light bulb explosion, store lights that are too bright, headlights of a passing car, etc.), mark it specially.
  3. Use these lights as signals to perform a reality test. Every time you see a bright light source, do a reality test. Imagine that you are asleep, become aware of yourself in a dream and do something that is characteristic only of sleep, for example, fly.
  4. Get in the habit of looking for light sources everywhere. Keep building your collection of lights and doing the reality test until it becomes a habit.

Three ways to enter the world of lucid dreaming with the device "DreamStalker"

  1. Recognition of "DreamStalker" signals in sleep. In the lucid dream provoked by the "DreamStalker", the sleeping person sees an unusual light in the dream scene (for example, the lights in the room began to blink), and realizes that these are the signals of the "DreamStalker" and is aware of himself in the dream. By recognizing the "DreamStalker" signals, and then realizing that you are asleep, you can do whatever you choose. In order to facilitate the process of recognizing signals in dreaming, it is very useful to train during the day with the compact device "DreamTrainer", which will allow you to develop the habit of checking reality when you see a series of flashes of light. However, it must be remembered that "DreamStalker" signals appear in dreams in various forms from dream to dream. Of course, it happens that the signals are similar to each other, but carefully peering into the surrounding space and noticing the light sources, perform a reality check each time. A typical mistake of people who begin experiments on entering lucid dreams with or without a device is to wake up prematurely while the dream is still underdeveloped. This problem can be attributed to "DreamStalker", as the signals it gives can lead you to awakening. Fortunately, there are tricks to help you stay dreaming. Rotation is one such technique. These techniques are described in the books by Stephen LaBerge.
  2. Awakening in Other Worlds: Using a fake awakening to achieve lucid dreaming. Since "DreamStalker" can accidentally wake you up in your sleep, it provides an excellent opportunity to enter lucid dreaming through a false awakening. A false awakening is a dream in which you dream that you have just woken up! After "DreamStalker" wakes you up a few times, you may be convinced that the next time the alarms come on, you will wake up again. However, very soon the signals may turn on, you will think that you have woken up again, but in fact you will continue to sleep at this time. Then very strange, to put it mildly, unusual things will begin to happen in your bedroom, and you will need your entire critical mind to realize that you are sleeping after all. You can turn "DreamStalker"-induced false awakenings into lucid dreaming simply by diligently taking a reality test every time you think "DreamStalker" has woken you up again. Use the reality check button on the device and each time listen carefully and peer at the signal to determine if it differs from the actual signal given by the device when you are not really sleeping. If you have removed the mask, then carefully check your bedroom, try to peer at a digital clock or some text to see if the numbers and letters are changing before your eyes. If something is wrong, then you are most likely asleep.
  3. Take mindfulness with you - fall asleep mindfully. Entering lucid dreaming directly from the waking state is one of the oldest methods for achieving lucid dreaming. Tibetan Buddhists practiced the technique of crossing the boundaries of reality and dream, remaining conscious, after all, for thousands of years. "DreamStalker" can help you get awakening-induced lucid dreaming. "DreamStalker" sometimes wakes up from a dream state. When you wake up in the middle of a dream, your brain remains in a special state and is able to very quickly go back to sleep. Therefore, even if "DreamStalker" woke you up, you are able to return back to the dream, keeping the intention to remain conscious.

Storage, operation and cleaning of the device

When the device is not working (i.e. the sleep timer is not started, Wi-Fi and other modes are not turned on), it goes into an energy saving mode. The power switch can be used to turn off the device completely. Store the turned off device in a dry, dark place at room temperature. Do not wipe the instrument with solvents or other liquids. Keep it clean, not allowing any contamination to enter the electronic parts of the device, as contamination of the electronic board and some other parts may cause the device to malfunction. Remove dirt with a dry soft cotton cloth or cotton pads; for hard-to-reach areas, use a clean brush or paintbrush. Do not pass the electronic board of the device removed from the mask from hand to hand to another person and do not place the device on metal objects - this will help protect the device from damage from static electricity charges (especially in winter).

Updating the instrument software

There are two ways to update the instrument software:

  1. The firmware file must be downloaded in advance and placed on the device (smartphone, tablet, laptop) from which the update is performed. Do not change the name of the firmware file. On the settings page opened via the Wi-Fi interface, find the program update section. Use the file selection form and the "Update" button.
  2. Rename the firmware file to firmware.bin and place it in the root directory on the memory card. Turn off and then turn on the instrument again using the power switch. The program will automatically update and the firmware file will be deleted from the memory card. This method can be used even if some abnormal situations occurred during the update and the main program of the device cannot be started.

During the update, do not touch the device, do not press buttons, do not interrupt the update process by other actions. Upon successful completion, the updated instrument program will automatically start.

Warranty obligations

The warranty period for the device is 1 year from the date of purchase, provided there is a sales receipt. Warranty obligations are canceled in case of device failure in case of any mechanical damage to the printed circuit board and device parts, when the case is opened, when the device is flooded with water, sweat, solvents or other liquids, when the device is dirty, when the device fails as a result of a discharge of static electricity.
